To help explain the disparity in numbers, as an example, I am getting divorced. It is not my choice, yet I still fully believe in marriage. Both parties don't have to agree in order for a divorce to happen. You could statistically have up almost 75% of the population believe in marriage even if nearly half end up in divorce (nearly 50% that stay married and potentially up to half of the other 50% that do not).
